Get your jingle bells on and grab some friends…..it’s time to celebrate the holiday festivities all around our little Newmarket town!

Holiday spirit comes alive in Newmarket this year with a craft fair, the Operation Santa Toy Drive, the Rec.’s Annual Holiday Party, Giving Tree Ceremony and the Town of Newmarket’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, plus a lot more.


21st ~ 7:00pm Ecumenical Service at St Mary’s Church

23rd ~ HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Wishing you a happy and healthy holiday with family and friends!

23rd ~ 11-1PM and 2-4PM Newmarket Free Thanksgiving Feast @ the Community Center (1 Terrace Drive) Hosted by Mama Kim’s Farm to Table and Little Brooke Farm

24th ~ Plaid Friday- Shop Local & Wear Plaid! Be sure to grab a shopping bag at Good Juju.

25th ~ 9:00-2:00pm Stuff-A-Cruiser at Rite Aid for Operation Santa Claus

25th 9am – 3:00pm Craft Fair at N.E.S. hosted by Linked Together

25th ~ ALL DAY Shop Small Saturday at downtown Newmarket – Newmarket Business Association


9:00-2:00pm  Craft Fair and Farmer’s Market at Newmarket Community Church

10:00am-3:00pm: New Market Historical Society Holiday Open House Hosted by the New Market Historical Society and held @ the Stone House Museum  Learn the history about many holiday traditions and see their special display of old toys from their collection.

2:00-4:00pm Newmarket Recreation’s FREE Annual Kid’s Holiday Party @ the Downtown Millspace.  There will be lots of holiday games, special holiday crafts, holiday raffle/s, and of course, a visit from jolly old St. Nick.  So Ho! Ho! Ho! Be sure not to miss out on all the fun!  We are accepting monetary donations to keep this FREE event going each year – see below.

3:00-5:00pm Newmarket Boy Scouts Troop 200 will be collecting unwrapped Toys and Gifts cards in front of the Town Holiday tree for Operation Santa Claus.

5:00-6:00pm Join the Town of Newmarket for the 29th Anniversary of the Giving Tree followed by the Peace Light & Tree Lighting Ceremony!    Come join us as we celebrate the gift of giving with caroling and the annual town tree lighting ceremony.  At approx. 5:50pm the Peace Light Ceremony will begin hosted by the Newmarket Community Church and then followed by the Lighting of the Giving Tree.  If you would like to donate a present to Operation Santa Claus, you may bring an unwrapped present during the day at several locations during the Merry Main Street Celebration.  See below for details.  We invite all residents to partake in the season of giving!

11:00am-1:00pm Newmarket Fire Dept Annual Senior Christmas Party at Newmarket Elementary School.

7:00pm-10:00pm: Santa Pub Crawl hosted by the New Market Historical Society

OPERATION SANTA CLAUS is a holiday giving program run by the Newmarket’s Lamprey Health Care Community Support Program which provides clothing and toys to children in the Newmarket Community who are in need. There are several ways you can help.

Sponsor a Family: Pick up Family Sponsor “Star (listing family needs)” at the Recreation Community Center, The Lamprey Health Care, and/or St Mary’s Church between now and Dec 2nd.       *Note all family sponsor items need to be turned in to the Operation Santa Claus team at the Recreation Community Center on Tuesday by December 5th.  If you need an alternate drop off arrangements contact Sarah @ 659-2494 x7643.

You may also donate an UNWRAPPED Toy or Gift Card at any designated drop off location:

Stuff a Cruiser:   NEWMARKET POLICE RELIEF ASSN ANNUAL STUFF A CRUISER will be parked at Rite Aid on Saturday, November 18th from 9am-2pm and will be collecting unwrapped toys/gift cards.  Note: all donations benefit Newmarket families in the Operation Santa Program.

Annual GIVING TREE:  Come join us as on Dec. 2nd as we celebrate the gift of giving with caroling and the annual town tree lighting ceremony. Donations of unwrapped toys/clothing/gift cards may also be brought to the Annual Giving Tree anytime from 3pm – 6pm at the Town tree on Main Street.  At approx. 5:50pm the Peace Light Ceremony will commence hosted by the Newmarket Community Church and then followed by the Lighting of the Giving Tree.

Alternate Drop off Locations:  You may also drop off unwrapped items at the Recreation Community Center or Lamprey Health Care between November 26th – December 2nd. .
