We are very excited to announce our brand new, motivational, & inspirational program for our young girls!

 

Thursdays —- 3:15-5:00pm —–3/15 – 4/19 

GRL PWR is designed to empower all girls to be strong, smart, and confident.   Specifically,  the program will encourage, guide and mentor Newmarket GRLs ages 10-14 on how to stay healthy, happy, and strong as they navigate through their tween/teen life!  The GRLS will learn life skills, cooking skills, the importance of honoring their body, and how to give back to their community through volunteering. 

In order to continue to offer this program and cover basic class costs and support overall Rec community events and programming, there is a small fee for this program. We have done our best to keep it to a minimum while a NCEP grant will help us offer some extra bells and whistles along the way.

Barb truly has an amazing fitness story! 

Barbara Durand has a background in early childhood education and has worked as a preschool teacher, a nanny and isnow mom of a wonderful 7 year old!  Although no longer a preschool teacher, she enjoys bringing yoga, music, and movement to the little yogis in the seacoast area. She believes it’s incredibly important to get children to love physical movement and an early age.  As someone who struggled with weight her entire life, fitness, health, and wellness have become Barbara’s life passion. Shortly after her son was born, Barbara started on a path to a healthier lifestyle. 5+ years later she has lost over 130 pounds and has become a certified yoga instructor and fitness enthusiast. You will be amazed at how she was able to transform herself & her lifestyle starting with Yoga!
