Sunday, March 11th

Set in 1959 at the fictional Rydell High School where the tough acting ‘Burger Palace Boys’ are stealing hubcaps and the gum-snapping and chain-smoking ‘Pink Ladies’ are looking good in their bobby sox and pedal pushers.  This fast paced and much loved classic follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of peer pressure, politics, personal core values and love.  Both a satire of high-schoolers and an homage to the 50’s, the heart of the story is the romance between gangster Danny Zuko and the sweet new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski.  When summer ends and school begins peer pressure and cliques make their love a bit more complicated.  The whole gang sings and dances around Danny and Sandy’s romance, through such hit songs as “We Go Together”, “Greased Lightnin” and “Summer Nights”.  Recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley this music became the soundtrack of a generation.  We’ll make a lunch stop at a local restaurant before the show.

Leave Rec Dept. at 11:00 and return approx. 6pm Cost: $49.00 (Lunch $$ on your own)

Includes: Transportation and Show Where:  Manchester, NH
